Rehabilitation is a journey to restore each individual patient’s optimum level of independence. At The Center for Rehabilitation at St. Anthony Shawnee Hospital, we combine the medical expertise of our team of healthcare professionals with the determination of each patient to develop and implement an innovative, personalized treatment plan. The team, headed by our licensed physiatrist, includes physical, occupational, and speech therapists as well as certified rehabilitation nurses, social work/case management services and a dietician, collaborate together to address every aspect of the patient’s treatment and recovery.

Rehabilitation Care for Injury or Illness
The Center for Rehabilitation at St. Anthony Shawnee Hospital is located on the third floor of our facility located at 1900 Gordon Cooper Drive. Our 12-bed inpatient rehabilitation facility is designed to offer comprehensive rehabilitation care to patients who have experienced a disabling injury or illness. The Center for Rehabilitation offers technologically advanced equipment and services in a warm and friendly atmosphere designed to maximize ability and get patients back to peak performance. Admission to The Center for Rehabilitation at St. Anthony Shawnee Hospital is available to patients who:
- Are able to tolerate at least 3 hours of therapy a day
- In need of acute patient care
- Have a qualifying rehabilitation diagnosis like:
- Stroke
- Orthopedic conditions such as hip fractures,
- Amputation
- Disability due to cardiac or pulmonary conditions
- Other neurological, orthopedic or medical conditions
Referrals accepted from physicians, discharge planners, case managers, other healthcare professionals or agencies, family members or patients can be made by calling (405) 395-5400. Upon receipt of a referral, a pre-admission assessment is arranged and completed by a nurse. An admission date and time will be established, and your transportation will be arranged for you.
